New Space.

I’ve been writing in a new space :)

Saturday snuggles.

with my bug.

Tonight.

I am going to see one of my favorite artists in concert for the first time. I was introduced to Jack’s Mannequin by my good friend, Jeni, when I was 18. Andrew McMahon has been on my playlist regularly ever since.

Tonight is also the first time I leave Saren for a long period of time ( a long time being 4-5 hours). He is staying with his Auntie Merlin, a dear friend of mine that he loves and adores. I’m so excited to drink a beer and enjoy one of my favorite musicians with my husband and two of our close friends!

Freeze frame.

I’d like to freeze this moment in time. My buggy boy is sitting on the floor with a book, sunlight streaming in through the window. He is turning the pages slowly and having a chat with the farm animals that are prancing around the pages. He is wearing red and gray striped yoga pants, diaper peeking out the back, no shirt, drool trailing down his buddha belly and a smear of juice on his left cheek, leftover from our snack of strawberries earlier.

I love him.

I love.

these pictures. They are from Christmas morning and Saren seeing his new kitchen for the first time. His joy is so sweet!

Party Scene.

One of Saren’s cute redheaded friends turns one on Tuesday and we celebrated today with a birthday party thrown at Comet. It’s a super awesome pizza/ping pong restaurant in Cleveland Park! They rented out the back room and filled it with kids toys and a tent. Everyone had a blast!

This is how…

… we share a bowl of soup.

I show you the pot of soup and say “Are you hungry, buggy? Do you want some soup?”

You nod your head very vigorously and punctuate your answer with a yell “YEAH!”

I pour some soup into a big bowl.

You get a spoon and I get a spoon.

We sit on the couch and I pull you on to my lap. Cause I’m reckless like that, we always eat lunch in the living room.

You stir the soup around with your spoon.

You eat the celery, the little carrots, the short noodles and the smaller pieces of chicken.

I eat the onions, the big carrots, the long noodles and the big pieces of chicken.

Now comes your favorite part, time to slurp the broth. You can barely gulp it down before you are giggling with glee.

It’s a match made in soup heaven, my little man.

Afterwards we take a nap, cause eating soup is tiring.

It’s my favorite…

…when he tries so hard not to smile when I am being a goofball. He avoids all eye contact with me and my crazy ways until finally I’ve finally gotten so loud, wild and rambunctious that he finally says “You are CRAZY!” with a laugh and joins in on the fun.

Sometimes…

you smash/lose two phones in 2 weeks. Right smack in the middle of the holidays.

you break the charger for your beloved Apple Macbook and can’t bring yourself to shell out $80 bucks for a new one when you would rather spend that money buying your baby Christmas presents.

you get an iPad for Christmas!!! Then that iPad proves defective (Applecare told me this happens every several thousand iPads. Of course, it would be mine). Luckily it’s being replaced, and I should receive my new one soon!

you spend Christmas at home, cuddling your boys and realize you don’t need any other gifts (but that iPad is pretty sweet)

you spend New Year’s Eve with your awesome friends, and your 15 month old sleeps all night in a toddler bed for the first time ever. You realize that he has been ready to sleep in his own room for a while… it’s you that isn’t ready.

you realize what a great outlet this tumblr blog is for you and you can’t wait to get that fucking iPad so you can start posting again on a regular basis.

Doses of cute

mixed in with doses of Christmas. Photobomb time.

(That is the beloved snickerdoodle in his hand)

(blurry pic. Saren loves to lay on my laptop because it’s warm.)

The following pictures are from the National Christmas Tree lighting!

And one more cute one. Cause I can.
